For kids and families in the St. Louis area, summer camp is not just a fun way to spend time outside of school. It’s a valuable opportunity for kids to thrive! The experience of summer camp and out-of-school programming is critical for kids’ mental health, an opportunity to discover new interests and skills, and has long term benefits for social/emotional learning, academic success and preparing for adulthood.
Sadly, many kids in the St. Louis region do not have the opportunity to attend summer camps. Families may be facing financial barriers or cannot find transportation to get their kids to camp. Without access to out-of-school programming, youth suffer the consequences of learning loss and are at a disadvantage to their peers who got to attend camp and learn new skills or make friends.
Blueprint4 was born out of a desire to address these issues and help connect more kids and families with programs. Our search site is designed so parents and caregivers can sort through the hundreds of available camps to find ones that work for their budget, time, and location. We’re also breaking down financial barriers by donating funds to programs so that they can provide scholarships to their campers.
We all have a role to play in fostering the next generation of St. Louis leaders. Yes, even you! By providing kids with opportunities to thrive, we are helping to increase the number of children who will go on to give back to the communities that supported them and creating a cycle of generational growth and success. Providing safe, high-quality and engaging programming outside of school time is one crucial way we can help our kids and teens reach their full potential.
All young people in St. Louis and beyond deserve access to these life-changing opportunities. It is our job to break down barriers across the community and make sure they know the door is open.
