Welcome to Blueprint4STEM Powered by STEMSTL!

Welcome to Blueprint4STEM Powered by STEMSTL! I’m so glad you’re here! You’ve landed on St. Louis’s filterable database of out-of-school-time STEM (that’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning for preschoolers through high schoolers.

As a mom and lifelong resident of St. Louis, one of the things I love most about the region is the wealth of family-friendly, education-oriented institutions throughout the metropolitan area. One of my favorite parts of growing up in St. Louis were the Sunday trips my family would take; we’d pile in our minivan and head down to Mastodon State Park, or spend the afternoon in the Science Center’s Discovery Room grinding corn into flour and trying to read x-rays. Now, my husband, kids, and I have our own favorite STEM traditions ─ bird watching at Powder Valley, the mind-blowing demonstrations at HealthWorks!, and Friday nights at the St. Louis Zoo. Also, I’m pretty sure my kids are on a first-name basis with half of the staff at The Magic House at MADE.

I also recognize how overwhelming it can be to navigate all the great STEM activities available to us ─ and that’s where Blueprint4STEM Powered by STEMSTL comes in. The idea for this site came as a result of our community expressing a desire for a one-stop-shop for extracurricular STEM opportunities. After multiple community listening sessions, months of workgroup meetings, and dozens of interviews with program providers, Blueprint4STEM is finally here. Discover 1000+ hands-on, high engagement STEM learning opportunities for your family to take part in at over 20 organizations across the St. Louis region.

When you head over to the search platform, you’ll see that you can search for programs by content area, grade level, time offered, and level of engagement. So, if you’re looking for an afterschool introduction to robotics for your fourth grader, you can customize your search to find a program that meets your student’s needs.

At STEMSTL, we’re committed to helping families throughout the region find STEM content that helps students get excited about learning and develop the skills they need to persist into the region’s STEM jobs of the future. I feel so lucky to be part of a STEM ecosystem here in St. Louis that provides learners with so many quality options for diving deeper into the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. And I am so excited that, thanks to the help of our partners at Clark Fox Family Foundation and all of the wonderful STEM-rich institutions throughout the metropolitan region, we are able to share this tool with our community.

So, please, come take a look around! Learn more about STEMSTL’s explore-engage-immerse model for STEM persistence, explore the STEM content areas available across the region, dig into the search tool to find the STEM programs that your young learners will love, and most importantly, dive into STEM learning!

Happy learning!
